Pride goes before destruction..

Good evening people of God ! I haven’t blogged for a little while but hey.. I’m back to share the word of God with you and I hope the Lord our God blesses you with this message !

While in church yesterday the pastor preached on pride. The topic was so interesting I felt the need to share it with you all. Proverbs 16:18 says that “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall“.  You know my brothers and sisters, God enables us through Jesus Christ to achieve many things. For example, some people manage to complete PhD’s in their respective fields, others manage to own 15 houses, others manage to run multi-million pound businesses. What ever one’s achievement, one must always stay humble. The question is why must you stay humble, the most simple answer is because pride leads to destruction as the Word of God says in Proverbs 16:18.

For example, let’s take a look at King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel 4:28-33 states :

All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar. At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon. The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”

While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: “King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you! And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.”

That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.

Through this extract it is confirmed that pride does lead to destruction. King Nebuchadnezzar was so prideful of Babylon the city which he built. By being prideful, he exalted himself above God. By doing so he was taking the Glory of God away from God. This angered God. God had to humble him by bringing him from a high ‘status’ to that as low as the animals. He lived and ate with the animals for as long as 7 years. In this way brothers and sisters God humbled him.  Before all this has occurred,  King Nebuchadnezzar had a warning of what would happen if he carried on being prideful in the form of a dream ( Daniel 4:10-27). Even after this warning King Nebuchadnezzar carried on his sin. He didn’t repent and eventually he fell in the exact way the Lord had said. Obedience is better than sacrifice. When God gives you a warning it is because he loves you and he wants to protect you. It’s up to you to take the warning or not.

Another example is that of the devil himself. Ezekiel 28:12-17 states that:

Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God:

“You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you. By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you.

It is clear from this extract that Lucifer cast out of the mountain of God because he lifted his heart up; meaning he exalted himself above the Lord our God. Lucifer is the father of pride. Pride leads to rebellion which inevitable leads to destruction. Some people say that sin is the sin of sins. This is the reason why, because through pride Lucifer who was an anointed cherub of God turned into Satan, the devil, the one whom hell was solely created for. The sin of Lucifer is clearly spelled out in two sections of scripture: Isaiah chapter 14 and Ezekiel chapter 28. Referring to Lucifer’s mutiny, it is written: “For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. And nothing has been quite right since. In this was brothers and sister, pride will bring you nothing but trouble. However being quite the opposite will bring you blessings. The word of God says in James 4:6-10 states “ But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” How much clearer can the blessing of the humble be according to this verse ?..

Thank God For Trials !

You know people of God, after reading the book of Job I have come to learn many things. The main thing I have learned is that we should really Thank the Lord our God for trials ! James 1:2 says “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials“. You see, the book of Job starts by telling us that “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was BLAMELESS and UPRIGHT, and one who FEARED GOD and SHUNNED EVIL.” (Job 1:1). God used Job as an example of shining example of virtue this is seen in Job 1:8 which states “Having you considered my servant Job?” God asks Satan. “There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” It is clear to me that after this incident, God soon allows Satan to afflict Job, not because he was sinful or anything of that nature but because Job was among the best of the people that served God on earth. Job was afflicted because he was God’s true servant and God knew that regardless of what may come to Job, he would still be blameless, upright and God fearing. Job went through a lot things. His cattle, sheep and oxen were burnt up by fire (Job 1:16). All his children were killed (Job 1:18-19). He contracted painful sores from head to toe (Job 2:7-8).

At some point Job started to think that God was punishing him for something. He got angry at God and asked God why he was afflicting him (Job 7:20). In this way one should not mistake Job’s discouragement for disbelief in God existence or losing trust in God. Job states “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him,” (Job 13:15) and “I know that my Redeemer lives” (Job 19:25). People of God we have to realise that trials no matter how vicious they may be come for a reason. A trial can be defined as a test, and there is no testimony without a test. You have to face a test and overcome it to have a testimony. 1 Peter 1:6-7 states that “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.” In this way one could say that by facing trials, and overcoming them, God brings us from glory to glory. By facing your trials and overcoming it, you step into a different level of faith. This is how faith grows. The word of God says that faith without works is dead. It’s just like muscles. You exercise your muscles for them to get bigger, through your muscle gain you eventually have to lift weights which are larger and heavier. Through this your muscles get larger and stronger. Faith grows in the same way. At first you start with small trials (for example to some missing the bus and being late for work when you have a boss that may shout at you is a trial) then eventually the larger trials ( for example someone close to you may get seriously ill). Through this your faith as a child of God grows more and more. In this way brothers and sisters I urge you to Praise God regardless of what trial you are going through because through this God is bringing you closer and closer to him and your faith and trust in him are increasing.

Leave it all to God !

Good Afternoon !

So I have a few verses to share with you which I gathered up while I was reading the Bible last night. In Genesis 18:14 it says “Is anything too hard for the Lord ? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” This verse came after God had told Abraham that one day in his old age he shall have a son, and his descendants were going to be as many as the stars. It’s clear that God is giving Abraham a prophecy. If God says it, he will do it. He does not need your help. In Genesis 16 Sarai convinced Abraham to “know” her maid Hagar. Hagar then conceived a son named Ishamael. The problem with this is that when God had spoken to Abraham, he said that Sarai shall give birth to a son, not Hagar. In this way they tried to help God fulfill what he had prophesied to them.

Brothers and sisters have you ever received a word from the Lord and because it hasn’t been fulfilled the way you imagined it you have tried to ‘help God out’ ? I’m sure you have, we have all been in that situation. Please understand that God does things in his own time and in the way that he wants them to. Keep believing, keep trusting, keep hoping, stand in faith and believe God is doing what he said he would do.

Genesis 1 – 13 – Creation

So, today is the first day of my reading plan. I have to say, God is amazing. It is amazing to be able to read the Word of God and feel peace in your heart, mind and soul. The Word of God is reassuring and comforting. I encourage you to read the Word of God daily. The Bible says in Joshua 1:8 “Study this Book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” When the Bible says something, there is no two ways about it. You either follow it, exactly the way it says or you just don’t. There are no negotiations. The Bible also says in Matthew 6:11 “Give us today our daily bread.”, my point is the bible is meant to be bread that you eat on a daily basis, not cake that you eat on special occasions like church on Sundays or at Weddings.

Moving on.. Genesis 1:26 says that “God said, “Let US make man in OUR image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and every creeping thing that creeps on Earth.” God created you in his image and he gave you dominion over all the earth. Do you realise how much power you have in your hands? The Word of God, which according to John 1:1 is God himself says that he gave YOU, yes YOU dominion over all the earth and all things that walk on it and all the fish of the sea. Don’t let the devil trick you into not realising your worth. If a millionaire doesn’t know that he’s a millionaire he will carry living life like a pauper because he doesn’t know his wealth. Isn’t that true ? Recognise brothers and sisters that this word echoes deeper into your soul and runs deeper in your veins than you may think. By simply speaking, commanding, you can change your life for the better and you can help those around you. Genesis 1:3 says “And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.” I want to make two points about the following verse. Number one: God said. God spoke, and what he said came to pass. We are made in the image of God and like God, we can say things and they will come to pass. What we say can be positive or negative, either way it will come to pass. YOUR WORDS HAVE THE POWER TO CREATE OR DESTROY. The Word of God also says in Isaiah 57:19 “I create the fruit of the lips..”. To me that seals the deal because it simply states that what your mouth produces I [God] create. This is one of the reasons why you as a Child of God should cease from speaking negativity over your life and the life of others because as you speak, it is coming into existence. Number Two: God commanded. By God saying, “Let there be..” it was a command. A command is opposite to a request. A request is to ask for something in this sense you could get your request denied or accepted. However a command is to give an authoritative order. By God command he was exercising power and dominion over what was already there henceforth he said “Let there be..” and not “May I please have the light..”. In this same way I’m trying to convey to you that the Spirit world, doesn’t listen to requests, the Spirit world doesn’t need you to ask or beg. The Spirit world doesn’t respond to pity, this is because whatever you need in your life that will help you to lead a better and fulfill the will of God is already waiting for you in the Spirit world. This is why you need to command, the same way that our Father who created us in his image did so. This is why the word of God says in Job 22:28 “You shall decree a thing, and it will be established for you…”. A decree is an official order which is issued by a legal authority. The word of God doesn’t say, “make a request” it says DECREE ! In this case we as the children of God have the legal authority to make an official order because God himself gave us dominion over every single thing on and under the Earth. In this way brothers and sisters I urge you to exercise the power you have over the dominion that God has given you.

As I was reading I also came across Genesis 4:10 which says “And he said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.” I know what you’re thinking, blood speaks ? Yes blood speaks. That is what the Word says. This also brought to mind a church service I attended a few weeks ago which mentioned this verse in passing. The speaker basically stated that when you persecute someone, whether it be through speech by speaking false things about them or physically harming them, whether they be dead or alive their blood will want to be avenged. Their blood will cry out like the blood of Abel. In this way he gave us a ‘warning’saying be careful how you treat others, be careful how you speak about others because if you persecute them, their blood will want to be avenged. This is a bit off the topic but hey, Genesis 9:4 states that “But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.” Yes, the life of a being is in its blood!

One verse that inspired and encouraged me was Genesis 5:24 it states that “And Enoch walked with God; and he was not for God took him.”. Can you imagine, Enoch walked with God. Wow how amazing is that. I don’t know if any of you realise how powerful this tinny message is. God seeks to walk and talk with us every single day. He seeks to be in every aspect of our lives. Enoch had fellowship with God the same way he could talk to a human on the road. In Jesus’ name I pray that each one of us as children of the Creator become this close to God. I pray in Jesus’ name that anyone reading this message who has never experienced sweet fellowship with the presence of God will experience it in this day and his life will forever be changed. Amen.

Stay Blessed People of God.

Good Evening to you all my brothers and sisters in Christ !

I hope you had a great service at church today. I just want to take this opportunity to encourage someone tonight by simply saying; God is everywhere, God knows your struggles, Do not lose heart, Do not lose faith. When you pray God answers your prayer immediately but in the spirit realm something might be holding it back. (Daniel 10:10-13). Keeping hoping, keep believing, Stand in Faith.

Stay Blessed.

90 Day Bible Reading Plan (Chronological Order)

So, I’ve decided to take up the 90 Day Bible Reading Challenge. Stay Blessed !

If God is for me, who can be against me ?

Romans 8:31 says “What shall we then say to these things ? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Brothers and sisters, I felt the need to encourage someone today with this Bible verse. I don’t know what you are currently going through right now but what ever your problem is, whatever your circumstance is, whatever situation you have found yourself in, I pray that by the shed blood of Jesus Christ this word will touch your heart, mind and soul and in the instant you read this your life will be changed.

Let me ask you, how many times have we gone through life feeling unhappy or mediocre ? This is not God’s plan for you. This is never God’s plan for anyone. Brothers and sisters we are fighting a war, a spiritual war. The word says “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12) Recognize that every problem that you have started in the spirit realm.  Don’t live your life unhappy, never let the devil steal your joy. By stealing your joy, the devil is merely trying to stop you focusing on the Kingdom of God or to disrupt you from doing the will of God. As a child of God, recognize the power of God, recognize the power you have received by the shed Blood of Jesus Christ.

The God who created the heavens and the earth has all the power in his hands and this is your father, why are you living a mediocre life ? Why does the devil even have a foothold in your life ? Let me ask you, is there a single thing that God our Father can not do ? There clearly isn’t a single thing that our God cannot do. In this case why do you doubt ? Why do you let things of the Earth frustrate you ? Our focus is to be with God our Father, a heavenly being. This is solely the most important thing in our lives (well as the children of God it should be any). Open your eyes and focus on the future, if you were to die today, where do you honestly think you’d go ? To heaven or hell ? Have you lived a life that would be pleasing enough to God to get into heaven ? Recognize when the devil is trying to distract you. Our life is but a moment compared to that of eternity.  Focus on the Lord and the Romans 8:31 says who can be against you ? The Lord our God gave us power over all principalities and over all powers of darkness, and a child of God exercise the right you have been given over your specified dominion. By God sending his son to die for us,we have received power to declare and thing and it will come to pass. As a child of God you have the power to command all forces of darkness that are trying to bring you down out of your life. YES ! You have the power to tell them to pack their suitcases and never to return to your life again.

I ask you today to take a look at your life, is there any part of your life that bothers you or worries you in a way ? What ever part of your life you have found, I ask you to commit it to God our Father through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ and completely leave it up to him. As soon as you ask the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart, your life is not your own anymore, so why in this case would you even think that you can fix your own problem. Please recognize that when you commit your life to God, it means your whole life. Philippians 4:6 says “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Meditate on this word, let it speak to your soul. You have no need to lead an unhappy lifestyle or walk around feeling mediocre. Ask God in this day to help you in your situation and believe, with unfaltering faith that God will answer you. God will change things around in your life for the better. Use the power that God our Father has given you and command any and every source of negativity, unpleasantness, mediocrity out of your life right now by pleading the Blood of Jesus.

Stay Blessed
